Inexpensive Web Hosting: What to Look For

October 29th, 2008 Posted in Niche Store Builders

How do you get inexpensive web hosting when there are literally thousands out there available online? It is like letting your fingers do the walking through the yellow pages trying to find a pizza restaurant or a burger shack. There are simply so many to choose from.

Well here are some important factors to consider when trying to find the cheapest web hosting, yet one with all the bells and whistles you desire.

First off there is there is server uptime. Ideally you would like to see 98 to 99 percent. On the other hand 79 percent is totally unacceptable. That is because the higher the down time your hosting service has means there will be that much less traffic. Not good.

Another consideration when looking for inexpensive web hosting is the size of bandwidth your package offers. Your monthly allowance of bandwidth is the amount of data transfer your visitors will be able to view and use your website. Make sure you have enough so that when your site becomes popular you will be able to handle the traffic.

Also you will need a domain name that will reflect what your site is doing. For example a sports site would want a name like “arkansassports.com” rather than “ilikethecity.com” These are terrible examples but you get the picture.

The price of the package is also important and the range is great. Just remember when you see one for $4 in all likelihood they will ask you for 6 months or a year upfront.

I hope I have helped you just a little in your search for inexpensive web hosting.
